Terms of Service

1. The service

CatalogBeacon is an embedded Shopify app that scans catalog quality, ranks issues, prepares reviewable AI drafts for titles, descriptions, and image alt text, and writes to Shopify only the changes a merchant explicitly approves.

By installing or using CatalogBeacon you agree to these terms and to the Shopify Partner Program and Shopify App Store terms that govern app distribution.

2. Your account and billing

Billing is processed by Shopify Billing. Plans, prices, and limits are displayed in the app and on the pricing page. You can start, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel through the app at any time; changes take effect according to Shopify Billing's cycle.

The Free plan includes limited AI draft and monitoring allowances for evaluation. Paid plans add usage allowances as described in the app.

You are responsible for ensuring that anyone using the app on your store understands that AI output is a draft and requires your review.

3. Merchant approval is required

CatalogBeacon never modifies products automatically. Every Shopify write requires an explicit merchant action in the review screen. You are responsible for reviewing drafts before applying them and for the final state of your store.

AI drafts are suggestions. Verify facts, prices, and brand voice before publishing.

4. No ranking or revenue promises

CatalogBeacon does not promise specific search rankings, traffic, conversion rates, or revenue outcomes. The service helps you find, prioritize, and review catalog fixes; results depend on your catalog, market, and actions.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use CatalogBeacon to violate the law, infringe intellectual property, distribute spam, or interfere with Shopify's platform. You must have the right to use the content you ask the service to process.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CatalogBeacon's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue or data.

7. Termination

You may uninstall the app at any time. On uninstall we honor Shopify's shop/redact webhook and delete the shop's app data. We may suspend access for violation of these terms.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced through the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
